On-Site Services
Whether you’ve come to Movement Orthopedics for a doctor visit, urgent care, or physical therapy, we have a number of same-day, convenient, on-site services available to you.
On-site imaging tests, pain management treatments, and assistive devices save you the time and hassle of having to schedule appointments or travel elsewhere. As an added benefit, many of the pain management therapies we offer provide quick relief for a variety of common musculoskeletal injuries. These services are just one more reason why you can depend on Movement Orthopedics to be your one-stop-shop when it comes to orthopedic care.
Diagnostic Imaging
Diagnostic imaging is the usual first step in assessing the extent of an injury or to rule out certain causes of your symptoms. When you visit Movement Orthopedics, our providers can order, perform, and read/evaluate the diagnostic imaging you need – all while you’re here in our office. We can then recommend and begin to implement a treatment plan unique to your injury and situation.
X-rays are the gold standard when it comes to first-line diagnostic imaging. If an orthopedic injury is suspected, your Movement Orthopedics provider may recommend we take some X-rays right away, to look for, assess the extent of, or rule out orthopedic injuries such as fractures, arthritis, bone spurs, tendonitis, and more.
At Movement Orthopedics, we use digital X-ray technology, so you’re exposed to significantly less radiation (up to 90% less). In addition, digital X-rays can be computer-enhanced for easier viewing and more accurate diagnoses. These X-rays are also easier to electronically share with other medical providers
We also offer on-site diagnostic ultrasound. Unlike X-rays, this imaging method involves no radiation, so it’s ideal for patients with pacemakers, spinal cord stimulators, or other circumstances in which avoiding radiation is important.
Ultrasound imaging can provide your Movement Orthopedics providers with a detailed look at tiny tears in soft tissue, a common cause of tendon or ligament pain.
The procedure is noninvasive and painless. It involves gently gliding a hand-held transducer over the top of the skin. You describe the pain you’re experiencing, and we create an image in real time using the sound-wave technology of ultrasound imaging.
Pain Management Injections
We often see patients at Movement Orthopedics who are suffering from a wide variety of musculoskeletal aches and pains. Our injectable pain management approaches can be used as part of your overall treatment plan, to address your immediate concerns if you’ve come in for orthopedic urgent care, as well as to delay or possibly avoid surgery altogether.
Our pain management injections include:
A single shot of cortisone, a powerful anti-inflammatory medication, can significantly reduce swelling that can cause joint pain. Often, this is enough to stop the cycle of chronic pain. Other times, a cortisone injection may need to be repeated after a period of time.
In some cases, medication may need to be injected into a precise area. Ultrasound technology allows the providers at Movement Orthopedics to pinpoint specifically where to administer the injection in order to effectively address your joint, muscle, tendon, or ligament pain
In cryoablation, hollow needles are used to deliver extremely cold temperatures to destroy specific tissue inside the body. This is often done to disrupt nerve pain signaling, before they can reach the brain, eliminating the sensation of pain.
Are you suffering from knee pain caused by arthritis? While there is no cure for knee osteoarthritis, there is an effective way to temporarily relieve your pain.
Viscosupplementation is a procedure in which a thick, gel-like fluid (hyaluronic acid), similar to the naturally produced version in the body, is injected directly into your knee joint. This replaces lost synovial fluid in an arthritic knee, lubricating the joint and acting as a shock absorber. The result is reduced pain and swelling in the knee.
Durable Medical Equipment
Movement Orthopedics patients have access to a variety of options when it comes to durable medical equipment. These are the devices needed to assist you while you recover from an orthopedic injury or surgery. The DME we offer includes:
- Braces
- Crutches
- Slings
- Splints
- Walkers
- Walking boots
Durable medical equipment can help make your daily life so much easier while you heal if you’re suffering from orthopedic conditions such as fractures, arthritis, tendonitis, and more.
